The experience

Make a glowing, one-of-a-kind glass shadow box using glass clay, a technique invented here at Sonoma Flow Farm. In this 6-hour hands-on workshop, you will build a finished, framed piece with a built-in dimmable light, starting from raw materials, with a design that is entirely yours. What you will learn Mixing glass clay Rolling the clay to an even thickness Transferring a pattern onto the clay and cutting it cleanly Freeze and fuse: making small raised elements with molds Adding colored patterns with glass frits and stencils Your design Choose from several ready-made patterns, or create your own. Every piece is unique, and it looks completely different lit from within than it does in daylight. Good to know No experience needed Limited to 8 participants Includes a break. Please bring your own lunch Everything is included: materials, tools, frame, backing, hanging hardware, and the dimmable LED light with a short USB cable Your piece is kiln-fired after class. Pickup is usually within 2 weeks, and we will confirm a date before you leave Uncollected pieces can be shipped for an additional fee. Glass is fragile, so shipping carries a risk of breakage
